Legal Brief: ACLU Objects to Capitol Hill Police Blocking News Photographers

The American Civil Liberties Union responded to reports this week from journalists on Capitol Hill, who alleged that Capitol Police were blocking reporters' access as they tried to cover healthcare protests, notes Common Dream. “Police may not delete photographs without a warrant, period,” tweeted the ACLU. Legal Brief: Prince Motion to Dismiss Is Denied

A Manhattan federal court judge yesterday has rejected the request of artist Richard Prince, the Gagosian Gallery, and Larry Gagosian to dismiss the copyright infringement lawsuit of photographer Donald Graham, reports The Art Newspaper. Graham alleges that Prince unlawfully used his 1966 photograph “Rastafarian Smoking a Joint” when he enlarged an Instagram post of it for his “New Portraits” show at New York's Gagosian Gallery in 2014.    Read the full Story >>
