Upstart British photography company Alfie Cameras' newest camera, the Alfie Boxx, is an all-in-one analog camera experience, enabling photographers to capture and develop photos in the camera itself. The Alfie Boxx is a handcrafted wooden camera with a ground glass viewing screen and built-in darkroom. “Basically, after the user takes their photo, they then complete four steps to do a black and white reversal process and develop a positive image, right there in the field,” notes PetaPixel. David Plowden, who documented a disappearing American landscape of steam trains, farmlands, and small towns, died on May 4 at age 93, notes Trains.com. Over his long career, Plowden produced 20 books and saw his work collection in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Center for Creative Photography, the George Eastman House, and more. Railroads were a central part of his life and focus: After working for the Great Northern Railway in 1959, he studied under Minor White and Nathan Lyons, and was an assistant to O. Winston Link. The Erasure of Palestine, a new book from photographer and filmmaker Ahmad Al-Bazz, is the result of a three-year mission to document what remains of the hundreds of Palestinian villages and towns depopulated and destroyed during the creation and expansion of Israel from 1948 to the present, notes Museums Etc. “In those three years, I visited almost 200 locations.
