The global shortage of solid state memory has claimed its first photographic victim, notes PetaPixel: Sony has announced that it is suspending fulfillment of all orders for nearly its entire SD and CFexpress memory card product lines. Sony's move follows Western Digital's announced in February that it had sold out of all hard drives for the year. The SSD shortage is due entirely to the seemingly endless hunger of AI datacenters for memory, adds Mashable: The cost of memory components is going up because the supply for the actual dies that make up all types of SSDs is finite and being largely consumed by enterprise companies looking to expand AI data centers. A veritable downtown monument, 7 Bleecker Street in Manhattan carries the imprint of long occupation, most distinctly as the home and studio of photographer Robert Frank and visual artist June Leaf. The Federal-style 1817 townhouse served the couple for more than four decades, during which time they lived and created in its light-filled spaces. The townhouse spans just over 4,400 square feet, including the lower level, and is currently listed for $6.5 million, notes The Spaces. Looking at photos of the building costs nothing.
