Alongside the new Kodak Ektapan 100, 400, and P3200 black and white films, Eastman Kodak has also released Kodak Ektacolor Pro 160, 400, and 800 daylight-balanced color negative film. But the new Ektacolor Pro films, notes PetaPixel, appears to be rebranded versions of Kodak’s extremely popular Portra films, which have long been distributed by Kodak Alaris rather than Eastman Kodak itself. The exhibition “Nona Faustine: What My Mother Gave Me,” on view at CPW in Kingston, NY, through May 10, is the first retrospective for the trailblazing photographer. Spanning multiple series across three decades, the exhibition illuminates how Faustine approached the political in her own life, from powerful maternal, ancestral, and feminist perspectives, notes CPW. “[T]he intensity of Faustine’s tenacious photographic journey and the fact that she is no longer here leave us wishing for a different ending,” notes Chronogram magazine. Washington, D.C.'s most-anticipated new museum has an opening date: The National Geographic Museum of Exploration debuts June 26. The $300 million transformation of Nat Geo's 140-year-old campus near downtown has been years in the making. With a series of cinematic galleries, interactive exhibits and a new 400-seat theater, it’s not your typical museum, notes Axios. As you might expect, photography will be a centerpiece.
