State of the Art: Most Surveyed Photographers Use AI for Tedious Tasks, Not Creative Editing

According to a survey of 363 photographers who either use AI as part of their workflow or are open to AI retouching tools, the vast majority believe AI should assist but not take over creative control. Retouch4me, maker of AI-powered photo and video editing software, asked 363 working photographers in Europe and the United States about how they use AI in their work and what they want the limits of AI retouching to be, notes PetaPixel. Art News: Steichen's $1m 'Balzac' Leads Masterworks Auction

A rare photograph by Edward Steichen is expected to sell for $1 million at a series of auctions at Sotheby’s showcasing the significant private Jill and Marshall Rose Collection of 20th century American and European modernist photography. Steichen’s 1908 image “Balzac, The Open Sky, 11 P.M” (1908), is believed to be one of only three extant examples of its size (estimate: $700,000–$1m). It comes from his extensive series photographing Auguste Rodin’s sculpture of the French writer Honoré  de Balzac, notes Fine Books & Collections.   Read the full Story >>
