Sports Desk: US Hockey Player Slams White House Over 'Clearly Fake' Video with Canada Slur

US ice hockey star Brady Tkachuk says he does not appreciate a doctored TikTok video shared by the White House that made it look like he was disparaging Canadians after winning Olympic gold. The video includes fabricated audio of Tkachuk referring to Canadians as “maple syrup eating (expletive),” with the expletive bleeped out. The video carries a note saying it “contains AI-generated media,” notes NBC News. Tkachuk, captain of the NHL Ottawa Senators, called the video “clearly fake.” Tkachuk was among the 20 US men’s players who visited President Donald Trump at the White House after their Olympic victory and attended Tuesday’s State of the Union address. British landscape and astrophotographer Mark Hetherington is the top honor of the International Garden Photographer of the Year 19 competition for “Grange Fell Last Light,” an image depicting a lush landscape in England’s Lake District. The Ronia Raw Photo Collection, hosted on the DataForce Community platform by TransPerfect, is inviting photographers  to contribute unedited RAW images for use in training advanced computer vision and machine-learning systems.
