Tech News: Fujifilm's Medium Format Cinema Camera Gets a Price and Release Date

Over the past year, Fujifilm has been trickling out information about the GFX Eterna, a new cinema camera built around the same 100MP "large format" sensor (medium format in photography terms) found in its hybrid GFX 100 II. Now, notes DP Review, the company has officially unveiled the camera. Officially called the GFX Eterna 55, it features a massive 44 x 33mm sensor and can be used with medium format lenses made for Fujifilm's GFX mount to record up to 8K footage. But it will also support Fujifilm's large format "Premista" lenses, full-frame lenses and several varieties of anamorphic lenses. Look for it in October. Price: $16,500.   Read the full Story >>

At a time when artificial intelligence is rapidly entering creative fields, the growing popularity of the Minimalist Photography Awards shows that the medium “remains vibrant and continues to inspire artists globally,” notes the contest, which has announced the winners of its seventh edition. Alexandros Othonos wins the top prize for his series “Threads of Memory’s,” in which he uses thread and vintage family photos to create “a retrospective on past times.” This year’s contest drew more than 2,600 entries and over 7,000 images from around the world.   Read the full Story >>

Trending: Couples Are Using Google's Gemini AI for Pre-Wedding Photos

Are you really getting married if your pre-wedding photos were generated by artificial intelligence? According to The Economic Times, an Indian newspaper, couples are now using Google’s Gemini image generator to create pre-wedding pictures seemingly taken in far-flung locations. “Worryingly, the trend removes the need for photographers as all it requires is a “clear photo” of the couple to upload to Google’s new AI image model, known as Nano Banana.
