Such gigs are part of a new category of work spawned by the generative AI boom, transforming the job market for many gig workers.

The Maison Européenne de la Photographie, a leading photography institution in Paris, has announced the departure of its director, Simon Baker, after a seven-year tenure. The announcement did not provide reasons for the firing. Caroline Miller, MEP's general administrator, tells Le Monde that the MEP’s board of directors “unanimously decided to end this collaboration.” Baker had represented MEP at the Rencontres d'Arles photography festival this summer, where he organized an exhibition focused on couturier Yves Saint Laurent's relationship with photography.

The International Center of Photography is bringing back its Photobook Fest event from October 2 to 5, with “70 visionary local and international publishers" gathering to showcase the art of the photobook. The building-wide celebration of the best in photography publishing includes exclusive photographer book signings, drop-in workshops, and illuminating conversations to shape the future of photobook making. VIP preview tickets are $35 and general admission tickets are $10.
