Cameras are everywhere: CBS News reports that a man in Argentina who was captured naked in his yard by a Google Street View camera has been awarded compensation by a court “after his bare behind was splashed over the internet.” The man sought payment from the internet giant for harm to his dignity, arguing he was behind a 6 1/2-foot wall when the Google camera captured him in the buff in 2017. Last year a court ruled against him, saying he had only himself to blame for being naked in his garden, but an appeals court awarded him the equivalent of $12,500. Read the full Story >>

Real estate portal Zillow has been sued for “massive” copyright violations in what could be that largest infringement case in history, notes PetaPixel. CoStar Group, a real estate data company with the world’s largest library of property photos, filed a lawsuit against Zillow in Manhattan federal court on July 30 accusing Zillow of publishing at least 46,979 copyrighted photos without permission, reports Reuters. In 2019, CoStar obtained a $500 million judgment against real estate listing platform Xceligent over the publication of copyrighted photos.

The “traffic apocalypse” facing publishers in the AI age is real: According to a new study, publishers are seeing a per-query clickthrough rate loss of almost 50% when AI Overviews appear. The study, from AI search and SEO platform Authoritas, measures the impact of AI Overviews on UK publishers’ web traffic, assessing the clickthrough decline across both mobile and desktop. The findings have been submitted as part of a legal complaint to UK authorities over the impact of Google AI Overviews on news publishers, notes Press Gazette.

As we noted recently, 360 camera brand Insta360 has announced it is entering the drone game. Now, notes DP Review, drone giant DJI has announced a 360 camera. The new Osmo 360 promises "the sharpest photos possible on the 360 camera market." It is also the first 360 camera to shoot 8K 50fps 360° video and the only 360 camera capable of recording continuously for 100 minutes in 8K 30fps. There’s a SuperNight mode for dark conditions, Selfie mode for wide-angle videos with high frame rates, and a slow-motion feature for recording at up to 100 fps.
