Tech News: Sony's New Camcorder Breaks Ground for Content Authenticity

Sony says its newly-announced PXW-Z300 is the "world's first" camcorder able to record industry-standard authenticity metadata with its videos. The tech could help prove that videos were actually captured by a camera rather than generated by AI, so it's no surprise that Sony's debuting it in a camera designed mainly for news and documentary shooting, notes DP Review. The system, which complies with the standard set by the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), is similar to the one found on Sony’s mirrorless stills cameras.   Read the full Story >>

Honor Roll: The Winners of CERN's Photography Competition

On 27 May, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, aka CERN, opened its doors to 17 photographers and invited them to explore behind the scenes at the world’ largest particle physics laboratory. Now CERN has announced the 3 winners and 18 runners-up of the CERN Photowalk 2025 competition. Jury prizes were awarded to Marc Goodwin for an image of places where work on the Large Hadron Collider takes place, and to Cedric Favero for a photo of a scientist at work. Trending: Man Sues News Outlets For Publishing His Photo Next to Story About a Sex Offender

A New Hampshire man is suing two local publications for allegedly publishing his photo erroneously alongside a story about a man with a similar name who pleaded guilty to sexual crimes against children. A photo of Chad William Lawlor was published along with a story about Chad David Lawlor, according to the defamation lawsuit. Chad W.
