The International Aerial Photographer of the Year competition has named the winners of its inaugural edition, with first place going to Jaanna Steidle of the United States for images of marine life off the coast of Long Island, New York. The contest’s organizers, Peter Eastway and David Evans, who spent a decade running the International Landscape Photographer of the Year awards, launched the new competition after noticing an increase in the number of stunning aerial images they were seeing.

Cloudflare, a tech company that helps websites secure and manage their internet traffic, says it has rolled out a new permission-based setting that allows customers to automatically block artificial intelligence companies from collecting their digital data, The move has implications for publishers and the race to build A.I., notes The New York Times. Meanwhile, PetaPixel reports that Bria AI, which calls itself a “responsible” generative AI platform, has released a next-gen model that “doesn’t steal your data."

TikTok is building a new version of its app for users in the United States ahead of a planned sale of the app to a group of investors, reports The Information. The news comes after President Donald Trump announced that he will start talking to China about a possible TikTok deal, adds Reuters. Last month, Trump extended to September 17 a deadline for China-based ByteDance to divest the U.S. assets of TikTok. A deal to spin off TikTok's U.S. operations into a new U.S.-based firm, majority-owned and operated by U.S. investors, was earlier put on hold.
