Now in its 28th year, the Wellcome Photography Prize honors photography at the intersection of science, health and the human experience. This year’s winners, announced on July 16, “capture powerful stories exploring domestic abuse, climate migration and the hidden dangers of cholesterol,” notes Euro News. UK-based artist Sujata Setia, Bangladeshi photographer Mithail Afrige Chowdhury, and UK-based science photographer Steve Gschmeissner, each win $13,500. See also: The British Journal of Photography.

Beware of fake Leica websites that offer significant discounts on Leica gear: “The websites are designed to resemble the original/official website, but upon examining the details, such as domain registration and hosting, you will quickly realize that these are all fake websites created to collect credit card information,” notes Leica Rumors. The scammers are advertising the fake sites on social media, adds LR, which spotlights some of the bogus sites. Leica itself has responded to the problem, putting a banner at the top of its actual website.
