Crime Blotter: Drone Operator Pleads Guilty "Unlawful Photography" At Cape Canaveral

A 71-year-old Chinese-born Canadian citizen, XiaoGuangPan, has entered a guilty plea in a federal case involving unauthorized drone flights over Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, notes Talk of Titusville. According to court documents, Pan traveled to the U.S. on a tourist visa in early January and used a DJI Mavic Pro 3 drone to capture nearly 2,000 photos and videos—more than 250 of which showed military infrastructure including submarine docks, munitions bunkers, payload processing buildings and security checkpoints on federal defense property.   Read the full Story >>

Apple invited 13 photographers and 8 illustrators across 7 countries—India, Korea, Thailand, the U.S., the U.K., Spain and Germany—to showcase their talents in its new “Shot on iPhone, Drawn on iPad” ad campaign. The global campaign, from TBWA\Media Arts Lab Los Angeles, features work from photographers Jason Nocito, Anais Wade and Rashid Sheriff and illustrators Serge Seidlitz, Spencer Gabor and Omkar Patil, among others. Tech News: Canva Is Quickly Amassing a Collection of AI-Based Photo Editing Tools

Canva, which acquired Adobe Creative Suite competitor Affinity last year, is doubling down on its dedicated photo editing tools with AI photo editor, a collection of AI-powered tools that let Canva users make wide-ranging tweaks and edits to their images. Canva’s AI photo editor includes tools to grab and move photo subjects, adjust the background, relight a scene, expand the frame, and more, notes PetaPixel.
