As Israel and Iran trade blows in a quickly escalating conflict that risks engulfing the rest of the region as well as a more direct confrontation between Iran and the U.S., social media is being flooded with AI-generated photos ands video that claim to depict the devastation. The fake imagery shows how generative AI has already become a staple of modern conflict, notes 404 Media: AI-generated content of unknown origin is filling the void created by state-sanctioned media blackouts with misinformation and it being used as propaganda by countries at war.

Peak Design is revisiting tripods in a big way, noted DP Review. Building on the success of its Travel Tripod from 2019, the company is launching three new tripods in what it calls the Pro line. They're heavier than the Travel Tripod and not as packable. However, Peak Design says they're more stable and offer more features for video shooters, all while still being more compact and lightweight than more traditional pro-level tripods. DJI is warning American drone users that with six months until a possible ban of its products in the United States, the US government has yet to start a congressionally mandated security audit of the company. At the heart of DJI’s concern is a provision in the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), passed by Congress in December 2024, notes DroneDJ. The law requires a national security agency to conduct a formal assessment of Chinese-manufactured drones.
