Earlier this month, Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, revealed the cover of his new album Cuck: a provocative image of two Ku Klux Klan members in full regalia, locked in what appears to be a warm embrace, with one holding a bouquet of flowers. The photograph, titled “The Wedding of two members of the KKK in a barn in rural America," was taken by Magnum photographer Peter van Agtmael, who tells Art News it was used without authorization. GDT Nature Photographer of the Year Wednesday May 7, 2025
The German Society of Nature Photographers (GDT) has revealed the winners and finalists of its annual Nature Photographer of the Year competition, topped by photographer Konrad Wothe for his image of a bird flying through a waterfall. Wothe first encountered a white-throated dipper flying through a waterfall 20 years ago but wasn’t able to capture the scene. Two years ago he was finally successful, thanks, he notes, to “cutting-edge digital gear and ultra-fast cameras.” His photo beat out over 8,000 entries from members of the GDT.

Inspired by a classic 1930s twin-lens reflex design, the Chuzhao Vintage Mini Digital Camera isn’t meant to have over-the-top modern image quality. But, notes Digital Camera World, taking intentionally poor images for the retro look is a thing, and the old-school style has apparently garnered enough attention to propel the camera to the top of Amazon’s best seller list for new release cameras in the US. The camera uses a 12MP ¼-inch size sensor that takes square, 1:1 aspect ratio images. The camera can also shoot 1080p videos without audio. The Phoblographercalls the camera "charming."
