Things are looking up for a young company called GENIC, whose photo booths take portraits from above rather than the traditional eye-level shot: Launched a year ago, GENIC now has three photo booth locations in Los Angeles that have become a hit with Gen Zers in the city, notes PetaPixel. Ryan Kim and M.J. Passings: Herbert Migdoll, Longtime Joffrey Ballet Photographer, Dies at 90

Herbert Migdoll, the longtime photographer of the Joffrey Ballet, died on April 19 at age 90, reports the Chicago Sun-Times. Migdoll met Robert Joffrey, one of the company’s founders, during a chance encounter in the 1960s at a pharmacy in New York City, joined the company in 1968 and later moved with it to Los Angeles, where it was based for a decade, before the Joffrey landed in Chicago in 1995. Migsdoll’s iconic images of dancers appeared on the covers of The New York Times, Life, Time and Dance magazine.   Read the full Story >>

Tech News: Sigma America Will Hike Prices Due to US tariffs

Sigma America, maker of lenses and accessories for a wide range of camera systems, including Sony, Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon and its own cameras, is the latest photo manufacturer to announce US price hikes due to President Donald Trump’s tariffs, notes DP Review.
