The Photo London art fair launches its tenth edition today and runs through May 18 at the historic Somerset House. The jewel in the crown of this year’s event, notes Wallpaper, will unfold across the Embankment East and West Galleries – an exhibition meditating on London life that brings together work from 30 photographers who have forged their careers in the city, from David Bailey and James Barnor to Miles Aldridge and Julia Fullerton-Batten. Capture One, the editing software known for its Raw processing and tethered shooting features, has announced updates to its platform that bring a new retouching feature and workflow for managing folders. It also revealed a branding refresh in the form of a drastically different logo, notes DP Review. The new Retouch Faces tool automatically detects faces to make retouching quick and easy. It can detect up to 20 faces, with each face assigned a number so you can work through everyone simultaneously or separately.

Two men from Cumbria, England, have been found guilty of criminal damage for the 2023 felling of the famed Sycamore Gap tree, beloved by photographers for decades. The two men, Daniel Graham, 39, and Adam Carruthers, 32, will be sentenced on July 15, notes Digital Camera World. The tree was not Britain's biggest or oldest, but it was prized for its picturesque setting symmetrically planted between two hills along the ancient wall built by Emperor Hadrian in A.D. 122 to protect the northwest frontier of the Roman Empire, adds CBS News.

Los Angeles is now synonymous with freeways (and freeway traffic). Photographer Arnold Hylen captured a previous version of the city, documenting buildings and homes that were ultimately razed to make way for modern life on the road. His work was included in the book Los Angeles Before the Freeways: Images of An Era 1850-1950, which became a cult favorite of LA architectural historians and other Angelenos when it was first published in 1981. Now it is being reissued by Angel City Press in a larger format with expanded captions.
