AI video generators can struggle with maintaining consistent scene and people, but AI startup Runway says its latest AI video model can do so,  giving users more “continuity and control” while telling stories. Currently rolling out to paid and enterprise users, the new Gen-4 video synthesis model allows users to generate characters and objects across shots using a single reference image, notes The Verge. Crime Blotter: Man Found Guilty in Murder of Photographer Joseph Shymanski

A Pennsylvania man has been found guilty of the brutal murder of well-known Washington, D.C. photographer Joseph Shymanski, reports Southern Maryand News Net. Brandon Ross Holbrook, 49, of Reedsville, Pennsylvania, was found guilty on April 8 in Calvert County Circuit Court on multiple charges, including first-degree murder, stemming from the 2023 homicide. State of the Art: Google's AI Mode Can Now See and Search with Images

Google is adding multimodal capabilities to its search-centric AI Mode chatbot that enable it to “see” and answer questions about images, as it expands access to AI Mode to “millions more” users. The update, notes The Verge, combines a custom version of Gemini AI with the company’s Lens image recognition tech, allowing AI Mode Search users to take or upload a picture and receive a “rich, comprehensive response with links” about its contents.
