Fatima Hassouna, a Palestinian photojournalist who had covered the conflict in Gaza on the ground for 18 months and is the subject of a new documentary to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival next month, was killed along with seven members of her family in an Israeli strike on April 16, notes CNN. She was 25. “If I die, I want a resounding death, I do not want me in urgent news, nor in a number with a group,” Hassouna wrote in a post on Instagram last August. “I want a death that the world hears, an effect that remains for the extent of the ages, and immortal images that neither time nor space buries.”

A number of major YouTube stars — including MrBeast (real name Jimmy Donaldson), MKBHD (Marques Brownlee) and Mark Roberhave — have signed on to a pilot program that will give high-profile figures more control over their likenesses on the platform. The tool’s rollout comes as generative AI tech makes it easy to replicate the appearance or voice or a celebrity, notes The Hollywood Reporter. The tool surfaces AI-generated content featuring a famous person’s likeness, and allows them to request removal.

Canon Rumors Monday April 21, 2025
The Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-8 lens is extremely popular with wildlife and nature photographers thanks to its reach and versatility, but, notes PetaPixel, it seems to be snapping in two for some photographers. “Unfortunately, we have now seen multiple reports of a possible weak point in the construction of the lens, and it may not be an ideal lens in challenging environments,” notes Canon Rumors. Many Canon RF 200-800mm owners, presumably nearly all of them, have had no issues with their lenses, adds PP.
