Among the interesting new tools announced at Adobe’s recent Max conference is Generative Extend, which is coming to Premiere Pro beta. Powered by Firefly. Generative Extend allows users to extend clips to cover gaps in footage, smooth out transitions or hold shots longer than you filmed. The Adobe Firefly Video Model, teased last month, has now also moved into public beta, notes DIY Photography. (Though it’s a public beta, you’ll need to sign up and join a waitlist.) Firefly Video can generate footage based on text prompts, adds DP Review.

Professional photographer Amanda Gallagher of Wichita, Kan., died Oct. 26 at Air Capital Drop Zone, a skydiving company in Derby, Kan., when she backed into an active plane propeller while taking pictures, reports E! News. She was 37. “After the airplane landed, for unknown reasons, as the next group of jumpers were boarding, she moved in front of the wing, a violation of basic safety procedures,” noted the skydiving company in a statement. A GoFundMe page was launched to gather donations for Gallagher’s funeral expenses.

When it comes to photographing landscapes of the English countryside—or any landscape for that matter—the only “true” focal length is 43mm, declares YouTuber James Popsys in a new video. When using a 43mm lens, the magnification matches what we perceive with our own eyes, he notes. “That doesn’t mean the field of view is identical to human vision—our eyes are complex, and trying to replicate their full field of view is tricky. However, 43mm, or anywhere from 40 to 50mm, gives a similar sense of scale,” adds Fstoppers.
