Student journalists tasked with covering violent unrest on college campuses across the US have been arrested and barred access as police moved in to crack down on pro-Palestinian protesters who have set up encampments and barricaded themselves inside buildings, notes CNN. At Columbia University in New York, journalists said they were barred from covering the unrest Tuesday night; at the University of California, Los Angeles, student journalists reporting on violent clashes between protesters said they were assaulted and gassed.    Read the full Story >>

As protests in support of Palestine sweep university campuses across the US, student journalists from New York to Texas have documented the reality inside the encampments, notes The Guardian, which talked with nine of them about their experiences. “I wanted to get a shot of how police were making arrests so people could see what was happening on the ground.
