Tech News: Capture One Increased the Price of Multi-User Plans by 344%

Capture One has replaced its Multi User license system with what it calls Capture One Studio for Teams, and, notes PetaPixel, while it has some improved features—including AI Crop, a faster AI, and what it calls “Tethering Boost”—it also costs upwards of 344 percent more per year: A 10-seat Multi-User annual subscription that formerly cost $1,598 now costs $5,500. “Winter is my favorite time of year and one of my [favorite] motifs is the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Elbe River Landscape,” notes photographer Dieter Damschen, whose image of an icily tranquil forest in one of the last remaining near-natural rivers in Central Europe is the overall winner of the 2024 GDT Nature Photographer of the Year competition. Art News: Artists Withdraw from Toronto Photo Festival Over Its ties to Israeli Weapons Maker

In one of the latest protests stemming from the Israel-Hamas war, artists are boycotting Toronto’s Contact Photography Festival, reports The Art Newspaper. The annual, month-long event takes place throughout the city in May, with more than 130 exhibitions and 250 artists participating this year. A grassroots campaign has been encouraging people to withdraw from the festival due to its longtime sponsor Scotiabank’s ties to the Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems.   Read the full Story >>
