Addendum: AI Video Wins Win Pink Floyd Contest, Sparking Darkness

To mark the 50th anniversary of its classic album “The Dark Side of the Moon,” Pink Floyd recently ran an animation contest in which creatives were invited to submit music videos for songs on the album. But, notes PetaPixel, outrage ensued after the creator of the winning video revealed  it was created with AI. “As a 3D artist myself, I tried to go a completely different way and try something new so I used Stable Diffusion installed locally,” said the creator, Damián Gaume. Books: Aretha Frankin's Photographer Shows Respect

Matthew Jordan Smith's book of Aretha Franklin photos was a long time coming, notes CNN. Smith was the legendary singer's official photographer from 2005 until her death from neuroendocrine cancer in 2018. Delayed by the pandemic, the book, Aretha Cool, was  crowdfunded and is now available. Smith calls it “a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable final chapter" in the life of Franklin.
