This month, NASA is launching more than rockets: The space agency is releasing NASA+, its new, free streaming service, and, notes Mashable, that’s exciting news for space fans. NASA+ will showcase NASA's live coverage of missions, launches, research, and everything else the agency has in the works. The service, which will be available on all major platforms via the NASA app on iOS and Android for mobile, tablet, and smart TV devices, is a part of the agency's plan to transform its digital presence first announced in July 2023.   Read the full Story >>

Tech News: SanDisk Denies That Faulty Hardware is to Blame for SSD Failures

SanDisk has denied that hardware issues are to blame for the recent widespread issues in its portable SSD lines, reports PetaPixel. A recent report from Austrian-based data recovery company Attingo claimed that after fixing a large number of SanDisk portable SSD products, it had determined the issues that have caused widespread reliability issues were linked to hardware. “While we are working to gather more information, at this time we do not believe hardware issues played a role in the product concerns that we successfully addressed with the firmware update,” noted SanDisk.   Read the full Story >>

In Focus: Photographer Is Fifth Journalist Killed in Mexico in 2023

A photographer for a newspaper in the notoriously violent Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez was found shot dead last week in the fifth killing of a journalist in the country so far in 2023. The body of Ismael Villagómez was found in the front seat of a car that he had registered to use for work for a ride-hailing app, said Heraldo de Juarez, the newspaper he worked for. In Mexico, many journalists take work outside the profession to pay the bills, notes The Guardian; authorities are investigating whether the killing was related to his work as a photographer.   Read the full Story >>
