OpenAI has announced the third version of its generative AI visual art platform DALL-E, which now lets you use ChatGPT to create prompts. That means you won't have to waste your mental energy coming up with your own prompts to guide DALL-E 3! The chatbot will write out a paragraph to follow, notes The Verge. The latest version of DALL-E also understands context much better, say OpenAI researches. They says they also focused robust safety measures to prevent the creation of lewd or potentially hateful images.

Erwin Olaf, the acclaimed Dutch photographer whose softly lit images of people in surrealist situations were seen widely in venues ranging from the pages of fashion magazines to the galleries of art museums, died on Sept. 20 at age 64, reports Art News. Diagnosed with emphysema in 1996, he had recently undergone a lung transplant. His work documented topics ranging from gay nightlife in Amsterdam to portraits of the Dutch royal family, notes AP. “Erwin Olaf saw beauty in every person,” said Taco Dibbits, director of the Rijksmuseum, adding that Olaf was of “historical importance” because of his activism and role in the LGBTQ+ community.
