A Italian photographer has been awarded multiple prizes in a photo competition for work that was not his own, reports PetaPixel. The photographer, Davide Francese, has entered numerous photos into the WPE Awards “and while some of them appear to be his own, others have been stolen from other photographers,” notes PP. Francese has apologized for his transgression, saying he purchased an online tutorial operated by Alex Koloskov from Photigy and believed he could use images from the tutorial for any purpose. However, it wasn’t just Koloskov’s photos that Francese misused.

Mick Hutson, who photographed icons of the rock world including David Bowie, Ozzie Osbourne, Slash, Metallica and Henry Rollins, died on June 1 at age 58, reports Guitar World. Hutson’s images were featured in a number of magazines and on official album releases by Nirvana, AC/DC, Primal Scream, Queens of the Stone Age, Mike Oldfield, Judas Priest and more. Hutson started his working life as a "roughneck" on oil rigs but eventually went to work for music photographer David Redfern before setting out on his own.
