Tech News: Tamron Announces 11-20mm f/2.8 Lens for Fujifilm X-Mount

Tamron has announced that it is developing an 11-20mm f/2.8 Di III-A RXD ultra wide angle zoom for Fujifilm X-mount. The lens gives a 16.5-30mm equivalent range on an X-series camera, providing a faster alternative to Fujifilm's own XF10-24mm f/4 OIS WR though not going as wide as the XF8-16mm f/2.8 WR, notes DP Review. The autofocusing system will be driven by Tamron’s RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor that it says works great for both still capture and video use, adds PetaPixel.   Read the full Story >>

Tech News: Apple Releases Fix for iPhone Vulnerability Exploited by Hackers

Apple has released a new version of the iPhone and iPad’s operating systems to fix a vulnerability that hackers were exploiting, meaning they were taking advantage of it to hack Apple devices. The latest bug was in WebKit, Apple’s browser engine that’s used in Safari, and a historically popular target for hackers, since it can open up access to the rest of the device’s data, notes TechCrunch. Honor Roll: Wildlife Photographer People's Choice Award

A “dream image” of a snow leopard in India has been voted the winner of this year's Wildlife Photographer of the Year People's Choice Award. German photographer Sascha Fonseca used a camera trap to capture the image of the rarely sighted big cat at sunset, with a backdrop of mountains in Ladakh, northern India. The photo, titled "World of the snow leopard,” was chosen as a favorite by a record 60,466 voters.
