Many of the manipulated videos and photos on TikTok warrant a few laughs and likes before slipping back into a relentless stream of content. But their existence worries people who study misinformation, because the same techniques are being applied to posts that sow political division, advance conspiracy theories and threaten the core tenets of democracy ahead of the midterm elections, notes The New York Times. Art News: Gagosian Adds Deana Lawson and Denies Acquisition

Gagosian, the world’s largest gallery, with some 19 spaces around the globe, will now represent the closely watched artist Deana Lawson, best known for her carefully staged images of Black life. Lawson will retain her representation with David Kordansky Gallery in Los Angeles, and Gagosian will show her work in New York, Europe, and Asia, reports Art News. Tech News: Canon Announces EOS R6 Mark II

Canon’s EOS R6 Mark II features a newly-developed 24.2-megapixel sensor and can shoot up to 40 frames per second. The new camera also has an improved autofocus system. In terms of video capability, you now get 6K RAW over HDMI for shooting ProRes RAW at 60 frames per second to devices like the Atomos Ninja V+ using the full width of the sensor, notes DIY Photography.
