Follow-Up: What Supreme Court Justices Heard in the Warhol Case, and What They Asked

As we noted previously, the U.S. Supreme Court head arguments yesterday from lawyers representing the Andy Warhol Foundation and photographer Lynn Goldsmith in the case involving Goldsmith’s 1984 photo of Prince and its use by Warhol as basis of a series of paintings. CNN reports on the case and the issues it raises, while also reporting on what questions Supreme Court justices asked. Passings: Photojournalist Roger Bamber, Who Photographed Freddy Mercury, Dies at 78

Photojournalist Roger Bamber, a leading photojournalist covering music, riots and politics for British newspapers, died on Sept. 11 at age 78, reports The Guardian. Among his memorable images was a defining photography of Freddie Mercury performing at Live Aid in 1985. Shooting for the Guardian, he captured a black-and-white image of a lone boy on Brighton beach, pointing and laughing at a Punch and Judy show. The simple, yet perfect image was part of Roger’s portfolio when he won the photographer of the year award for the Guardian in 1992.   Read the full Story >>
