A software engineer working for Google has created program that uses artificial intelligence to scan through hundreds of thousands of photos from World War II to help identify victims and survivors of the Holocaust. In an interview with The Times of Israel, the engineer, Daniel Patt, 40, noted that he worked on the software as a side project but is being joined by a growing team of engineers, researchers, and data scientists. According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, website, there is no single list identifying the victims and survivors of the Holocaust; research to find individuals' stories has required following leads on minimal information, adds Mashable. Thailand-based photographer Jatenipat Ketpradit’s portrait of warriors from the Suri tribe of Ethiopia is the overall winner of the 2022 International Photographer of the Year competition. “I always stay with the tribal people at least one week per tribe,” he says. “The Suri tribe is one of the hardest to reach in Ethiopia.
