"ATRAVESADXS" (transversed in Spanish, the "x" is for language inclusivity) is a visual project that documents the testimonies of relatives, siblings, parents and friends of victims of gender-based crimes in Argentina. Eleonora Ghioldi has collected more than 70 testimonies from people who've lost a family member in a femicide. "ATRAVESADXS" is part of one of her visual projects that shed light on issues that affect women in Latin America and the United States, notes NPR. Former high school students, represented by lead plaintiffs Meredith Callahan and Lawrence Abraham, were told by a federal judge they can pursue a lawsuit against PeopleConnect after their yearbook photos were published without their permission on the company’s social networking site classmates.com. The plaintiffs argued that the yearbooks in question “were published in the 1990s and early 2000s” when the “internet was in its infancy and social media did not exist,” so they never expected nor consented to their photos being published online, notes PetaPixel. Urban Wildlife Photography Awards Monday July 18, 2022
Wildlife is all around us—even in urban settings. And that’s the focus of the Urban Wildlife Photography Awards, a competition organized by London-based photography platform Picfair. This year’s contest drew over 6,000 photographers from countries and territories around the world. Amateur photographer Andrew Interisano was named the Overall Winner for his image of two coyotes wandering a street in Ontario, Canada, at night.
