Published two months ago, photographer Trent Parke’s book Cue the Sun (Stanley Barker, 2022) is already out of print. That, declares The Washington Post, is unfortunate, because it “is a ravishing document.” The publisher calls the book a “fantastical journey through the kinetic Indian night to a breath-taking dawn.” Parke took that journey just a week before the coronavirus pandemic, while on a trip across parts of India, shooting scenes through the window of a bus. Instagram, which started as a photo-sharing platform, has made no secret of its move towards videos, and in particular Reels, partly to fend off competition from TikTok. Now, notes PetaPixel, a photographer says he has tricked the Instagram algorithm into pushing his photos by leveraging the platform’s preference for Reels to his advantage. "Growing on Instagram is a struggle nowadays, but I think I found a way," notes Australian photographer Michael Amarico in a video entitled “I Broke Instagram.” Read the full Story >>

Bernd and Hilla Becher, photography giants of the Düsseldorf School, emerge from the shadows of photo history with a new exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, notes The Art Newspaper. Strange as it may seem, the exhibition is the pair’s first major US survey, adds TAN. The show will include the Bechers’ signature grid works as well as largely unknown early pieces. Phase One has announced the XT-Rodenstock HR Digaron-W 4.0/40mm Tilt—a 40mm f/4 lens with a tilt design allowing photographers to adjust the focal plane and control the depth of field. The tilt functionality joins the shift control already present on the Phase One XT camera, which offers 24mm of shift along the X and Y axes.
