ArtExpo is an eclectic selection of emerging artists and do-it-yourself creatives featuring original artwork, books, prints and collectibles July 24-26. Created by the students at Media Design School of Digital Arts at NSAD, ArtExpo is an alternative art fair taking place during Comic-Con and Gam3rCon at the Wonder Bread Factory, 121 14th Street, San Diego. Comic Con International San Diego 2014 returns to the San Diego Convention Center, beginning with Preview Night on Wednesday, July 23, with the four days of the event running Thursday, July 24 through Sunday, July 27. 2014 marks the 45th year for the show, making it the country’s longest continuously-run comics and popular arts convention. InFocus Juried Exhibition of Self-Published Photobooks

Just nine days to get your self-published photobook to Phoenix Art Museum. (They must be received by end of business day Thursday, July 31, 2014. Opening reception, 5-7 pm: No Exit | A Project by Khaled Jarrar, including Infiltrators, a 2012 film, which records repeated efforts by Palestinians to breach the wall that defines the border with Israel. Mr. Jarrar, who lives and works in Ramallah, was scheduled to come to New York for the exhibition but was reportedly grounded at the last minute by Israeli authorities.

In Chicago Opening reception, curator walkthrough, 5 pm: Phantoms in the Dirt, with curator Karsten Lund. Sixteen artists in this exhibition present an array of physical remnants and enigmatic traces, ranging from cryptic objects to the marks of human activity in rugged landscapes. Open meeting, 7-9 pm: Karen Finley | Artists Anonymous. To be held every other Friday, beginning July 18, Artists Anonymous is conceived as a series of open meetings for artists who feel that their lives have been affected by art making, the art world, and the trials of maintaining a creative life and career.
