Organized annually by the Art Dealers Association of America, and benefitting Henry Street Settlement, The Art Show brings together some of the country’s top galleries to showcase exhibitions of both historical and contemporary works. Thursday, November 2, 4 - 5pm: Alliances and Exchange | Asian American Diasporic Artists in 1960s New York
Coinciding with Tina Kim Gallery’s historical presentation of Minoru Niizuma and Kim Tschang-Yeul, the conversation will shed light on how artists like Niizuma and Kim acted as bridges for the artist communities of their native countries. The conversation will touch on the relevance of methodology, omissions in the Western art historical canon, diplomacy, and institutional engagement. RSVP

Thursday, November 2, 2:30 - 3:30pm: Peter Saul: Magazine Launch and Book Signing
In conjunction with their booth presentation, Michael Werner Gallery will host a magazine launch and book signing for Peter Saul, who is featured in King Kong Magazine’s most recent “Americana” edition.  Special Limited Edition issues of King Kong Magazine with artwork by Saul on the cover will be available for purchase as well as copies of Saul’s monograph by Rizzoli and recent exhibition catalogues. Saturday, November 5, 3-5 pm: Upper East Side Gallery Walk

Join the ADAA and over 30 of our member galleries for the ADAA Upper East Side Gallery Walk. Timed in conjunction with The Art Show, galleries in the surrounding neighborhood will open their doors to the public from 3:00-5:00pm on Saturday, November 5th, for a collaborative gallery walk event showcasing some of the most dynamic exhibitions in New York City this season, free of charge. The Frick Madison invites you to sketch outdoors, in front of the museum on Madison Avenue at 75th Street from 1-3 pm.. Drawing activities and refreshments from The SisterYard will be available on a first-come, first-served basis (weather permitting). This event is free; all materials will be provided, and no art background is needed. Tickets are required for museum entry.

Pierre Soulages: From Midnight to Twilight traverses seven decades of the artist’s practice. The exhibition features early works and examples of Soulages’s revelatory Outrenoir series, inviting viewers to join his exploration of light and darkness.

Mnuchin Gallery, 45 East 78 Street (Madison-Park) (10am-5:30pm)
Mnuchin Gallery is proud to present Frank Stella’s “Indian Birds”: a series of three-dimensional paintings conceived by the artist while traveling to India in 1977. The presentation includes the entire series of maquettes and an impressive selection of monumental works.

Sunday, November 5, 12 - 3pm: Meet the Artists

Each year, the popular "Meet the Artists" event allows visitors to the fair to learn more about exhibitor presentations directly from the artists whose work is on view and from the experts associated with historical presentations.  More thab 20 artists will be present. No RSVP

As Henry Street Settlement’s greatest source of unrestricted funding, The Art Show has raised over $36 million for the nonprofit through more than three decades of partnership between the two organizations. The collaboration between the ADAA and Henry Street allows for the creation of an unparalleled art experience that supports vital services for over 50,000 New Yorkers each year. According to a report in the New York Times, the amount raised by the Art Show for the Henry Street Settlement — about $1 million annually through its gala benefit and ticket proceeds — is the organization’s largest donation of discretionary money, giving it the ability to respond to crises as they occur, such as the pandemic or asylum seekers. The relationship between the two institutions means that “while being a beacon of the glamour aspect of the city, it can help the real people of the city,” said Lisa Corinne Davis, one of the artists whose work will be exhibited at the Armory this year.
