The DART Board: 06.25.2013

And the Winner Is

Marcellus Hall, of New York City, entered last week’s Book Prize Contest, which asked Where in New York Am I?

He wrote:
That photo is of the Snuff Mill Waterfall not far from Lorillard Snuff Mill (40°51′36″N 73°52′35″W) on the Bronx River in the New York Botanical Garden in The Bronx.

In a subsequent email, he wrote:
Actually I am a New York City obsessive. I love to visit and learn about landmarks in the city. Last summer I was at the New York Botanical Garden and happened upon the Snuff Mill Waterfall. I took some photographs. When I saw your photo in the DART Book Prize Contest (below) I immediately recognized the scene but I compared my photo to yours in order to be certain, and found the rocks were identical. The Bronx River and its environs—especially the Botanical Garden—are an oasis in the middle of a busy city. Marcellus Hall, a New York based illustrator, was recently featured in DART.

Thanks to everyone who entered the second DART Book Prize Contest of 2013. So many of you were an inch away from exact, so keep on looking: I love hearing from you!
