The Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation for Documentary Photography & Film is expanding its 2013 grant program to include an award for short (under 20 minutes) documentary filmmaking, reports Yahoo News. The focus of both the photography and film documentary grants is work that explores social and political injustice, famine, disease, and poverty. The winning photography and film entries will each receive $5,000 grants for the completion of the project. Film submissions must be received by May 31, 2013. The winner will be announced in Paris in July.
