Hasselblad Defends Its New $6,500 Mirrorless Camera
Of all the product announcements at this year’s Photokina show, the one that raised the most ruckus may have been the news that Hasselblad was introducing a new “ultra luxury” APS-C mirroress camera called the Lunar. Critics pounced: The new $6,500 Lunar, said PetaPixel, was simply “a dressed-up version” of the $1,100 Sony NEX-7. As the British Journal of Photography noted, the intro of the new cam coincided with the announcement of a new strategic partnership between Sony and Hasselblad, which defended the Lunar’s concept and pricing.
