Exhibitions: Araki and the Art of Seeing Sexuality Everywhere

“Contemporary society is bristling with innocent bystanders who can’t help but see symbols of sexuality everywhere – one need only look to Instagram accounts such as @look_at_this_pusssy  for evidence,” notes AnOther, which spotlights Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki’s famed 1993 series “Erotos,” a collection of images that find vaginas and much more in everyday objects, both natural and manmade. It’s part of the exhibition “I, Photography” at New York’s Anton Kern Gallery  through August 31.
