The SD Association has announced a new standard of SD cards that, notes Cinema 5D, paves the way for the data-hungry future: The new SD Express standard combines gigantic storage capacities of up to 128TB with SSD-like transfer speeds in order to keep pace with the developments of the tech industry. SD Express cards will be capable of 985 megabytes per second (MB/s) maximum data transfer rate. To put this speed in perspective, adds News Shooter, a Sandisk SDHC Extreme Pro UHS-II card has a maximum write speed of 260MB/s and a maximum read speed of 300MB/s.
