Tech News: The New 80mp Panasonic G9, with 6.5-Stop Stabilization

By David Schonauer   Friday November 10, 2017

Panasonic’s newly announced Lumix DC-G9 is the company's first mirrorless camera aimed specifically at professional stills photographers, notes DP Review. Geared for high-speed capture at up to 20fps, the G9 offers the same 20-megapixel Four Thirds sensor as the video-centric GH5, but with tweaked image processing for better JPEG image quality. Want more resolution? The G9 is able to shift its sensor eight times to create an 80-megapixel RAW image. The cam’s image stabilization is capable of reducing shake by up to 6.5 stops, adds PetaPixel.
