But it’s crucial, says Casey Frechette, a visiting assistant professor in the journalism and media studies department at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg, because audio sets imaginations spinning. Frechette has 10 basic but valuable tips for getting audio right. “Great audio relays facts while adding detail and texture,” he writes. “This detail can emerge from all the sound types, but especially natural sound.”
